Anna/Kelly: $500,000
Belisle: $3.5 million
Walden: $3 million
Martinez: $500,000
Three of those are just estimates based on ML minimum or, in Walden's case, projected arbitration. So roughly $7.5 million. And it's a better group.

I really like Craig, and I hope he gets back to being close to what we all expected. Unless he comes to the NL Central!Jocephus wrote:According to FOX Sports' Jon Morosi, the Red Sox are in "active" Allen Craig trade talks with at least one team.
Craig batted just .128/.234/.191 in 107 plate appearances after the July 31 trade that sent he and Joe Kelly from the Cardinals to the Red Sox for John Lackey. Craig hasn't been the same since suffering a Lisfranc foot injury late in the 2013 season and he's owed $26.5 million over the next three years. Boston probably won't be able to get much in return.

Do we need to start an Allen Craig watch? I really have no idea where he might go. Miami and Brewers were the first names, but Miami has to be out now.
Brewers?
Padres?
Reds?
Mariners?
Astros?
Pirates?

This is the sort of dealing that makes people hate the Cardinals. We're paying less and getting more.BW23 wrote:Anna/Kelly: $500,000

Athletics released INF Nick Punto.
Punto, 37, batted just .207/.296/.293 this season for the A's while battling some injuries. The A's will still be responsible for his $2.75 million salary next season. Someone will get Punto a shot due to his versatility, but he might have to settle for a minor league deal.

Punto was really picking it for us in the 2011 postseason.

Twins signed 1B/OF Brock Peterson to a minor league contract.
Peterson is 31 years old and has only logged 28 career plate appearances at the major league level, but his Triple-A numbers are very good. He could get a shot in Minnesota at some point during the 2015 season. Dec 22 - 1:45 PM

Cubs signed OF Adron Chambers to a minor league contract.
Chambers was most recently part of the Blue Jays' system, having been acquired in mid-season from the Astros. He hit .283/.351/.411 in Triple-A last season. Chambers will serve as organizational depth for the Cubs.
Dec 23 - 1:37 PM
Reds signed OF/INF Jermaine Curtis to a minor league contract.
For the Cardinals, Curtis hit .253/.386/.289 in Triple-A this past season. He's appeared in the majors for just five career games and will serve as organizational depth.
Dec 23 - 1:43 PM
Padres signed 1B Brett Wallace to a minor league contract.
Wallace slashed .282/.350/.426 with 17 homers and 58 RBI at Triple-A for the Blue Jays in 2014. He's a former top prospect and should have the opportunity at spring training to try to crack the Padres' Opening Day roster.

The super fragile Rafael Furcal tore his hamstring in the Dominican league. Either that dude is very broke, or really really enjoys playing baseball.
