Schlafly Tap Room. If you want some good reasonably priced beers that can't be mass produced. If you can get a tour, there, typically the last half hour is all you can drink for you and 9 of your friends, of their finest stuff. Then you stumble out and have a few more upstairs. Then you stumble around dt stl for several hours. I bought a tour for about 50 bucks at school charity auction. Best money ever spent.

I'm a big fan of Schlafly as a brewer and I love the tap room. I admit the last time I was there I was hungover and didn't drink as much as I should have, but it's my kind of food and my kind of beer at a price I can swallow.

I vote that we do the 10 year GRB reunion here and then stagger over to the park to watch a game and sip on a couple of cold frosty Budweisers.

I'm in DC and went to the Dogfish Head Alehouse last night. Theobroma, Polo Santa Maron, Midas Touch, and Raison d'Extra all on tap, as well as the Raison d'Etre.

I didn't want to leave.

Just a while ago, I could have went in to Side Project for a beer, but Lukethedrifter drove me away.

I don't need a website to tell me if what I am drinking is good, but can't resist checking ratings. Mostly I just use ratebeer to eliminate what I shouldn't buy, or clarify what style it is.

That said, what do you guys use for suggestions? Ratebeer seems to inflate. And style vs.overall rating can be baffling. Some style bias going on. Obviously not a bell curve.

Part of the reason I go here is because "The Bros" impressed me with their unpretentious "80" (Good) rating of Budweiser. Looking at some of their other ratings of other mass produced stuff, I almost agree 100% with them. Corona is awful, PBR is good (but I disagree that it's better than Bud), MGD is awful, Sam Adams Boston Lager is outstanding (90), Bohemia is almost outstanding (89), Heineken is poor (I would say awful), NG Spotted Cow is good (80) but Two Women is better (91 - outstanding). That gives me a really good sampling of beers that I drink alot and enjoy(or not), in different styles, and I'm pretty damn close with them in my opinions.

I went to that ratebeer site and that is pretty much the definition of a really crummy webpage design. I thought I was searching something and ended up clicking on an add to find out personal crap about people.

My wife subscibed Beeradvocate magazine for me. Its ok, because I can breeze thru it in 10 mins. Some of the articles are too beer weirdo for me, but usually some cool places featured that Id like to drink at.
