Vanilla beers always disappoint me. I'll have to check out Leinenkugel's, though.

The Breckinridge Vanilla Porter is absolutely fantastic. Highly recommended.

I can't add anything to the conversation regarding good or bad beer but I do know one thing.

I'm going to drink A LOT of it tonight!!!

Just placed my case order for this year's Olde School barleywine from Dogfish head. I try to save half the case and age it for 2 years, but I've never made if past March.

Out in North Carolina for a wedding & picked up some dogfish head pumpkin brew (delicious) & their 90 day IPA (which is also very good).

Had the rehearsal dinner last night but got back to the hotel in time to see them blow Clayton Kershaw the [expletive] up!

My brother was up here for a hockey tourney for his grandkid last weekend and stopped by for dinner on the way home. He brought a 4-pack ... yes a 4-pack of get this ... pumpkin beer. Nice gesture, and I can now say for sure that type of beer is not for me.

At Binny's I bought some of these pints that were on sale from like $6-8 a bottle to $2. I had one last night - an abbey ale or something - and I'll be quite honest with you that I definitely think Leffe Blonde is better. That's the style of beer. Tonight I have a dark beer that I will try.

I feel like the pendulum has swung back from me wanting to try everything to know just wanting a Budweiser most nights.

I get the absolute worst hangovers from Budweiser these days. I flat-out won't drink it under any circumstances*. It's not a snob thing. It's an "I don't want to be trembling and feel like vomiting the entire next day" thing.

*ok, actually, I can be coerced into having one at a Cardinals game. But nowhere else.

Turns out I'm like that with Bourbon. I decided to have a second one last night(on top of a couple of Sam Adams Oktoberfest), and that was a mistake. I just feel like [expletive] all day. I think my bourbon phase has ran it's coarse.
