I know FIFA probably doesn't give two [expletive] about the American audience, but 11 AM on a Thursday isn't exactly ideal.

I never thought I'd be so [expletive] nervous about soccer. I might just have to get into non-world cup play after this go-round.

Damnit, I gotta get to sleep, I only have 6 hours to sleep before heading to the pub for some lunch and yelling.
Then going to the NBA draft later at night. Good day off for sports.

Re: 2014 World Cup
I'm going 0-0 for USA v Ger because no one wants to get hurt in these playing conditions. Portugal beats Ghana.
(I'm not saying they're conspiring for a tie. I think both teams play close to the vest and defensive. There will be some scoring chances, but nothing sneaks through the goal. Then at about the 75th minute, both teams sub out key players and they settle for the draw.)

Re: 2014 World Cup
Realistically, what type of game should we expect? Germany doesn't really need to be conservative considering how big of a GD lead they hold over Ghana and especially Portugal. Even if they lose, they're still likely to get through. A lot easier for them to play their style of game and not worry about a loss. The US, otoh, doesn't have the GD cushion. Will they be willing to play their game, as well, knowing a loss really opens them up for an early exit?
