Complacency? Yeah, maybe. Old players who have been emotionally and physically exhausted by their club season? Probably has more to do with it.

Saw a guy on twitter compare tiki-taka to the 7 seconds or less Suns. When Steve Nash got old, it died. Xavi is old. Tiki-taka is dead (for Spain).

Reading the twitter/us soccer community tea leaves and it seems like Johannsson is going to get the start on Sunday.

I don't like him as a 90 minute player yet but he's very much a Tomas Mueller-style player, and if we can pass in the final third resembling anything like Germany, he could find the same opportunities with his tricky runs and nose for the ball.

DC United - he was a bust
Salt Lake - he was ok.
U20 World Cup (2007?) - dominated, including a goal and two assists against Brazil.
Benfica - After the u20's Benfica bought him. He was a bust. Loaned him out.
Greek Club Who's Name I Forget - he was ok, but not good enough to justify his salary.
2011 Gold Cup - Showed some moments of brilliance for the national team. Got all of our hopes up again.
Philadelphia - He was ok but didn't get along with the coach. Not good enough to justify his salary.
Bahia - Brazilian club. Think he played two or three times in a year.

Last I heard he was training with Bolton Wanderers in England and they declined to offer him a contract. Not sure what he's doing now.

Shame for a guy who's probably only in his 20's.
