Now the next step people think of is to create a Facebook page to somehow make this cat and their owners somehow "famous" (I'll use that term very loosely here). How pathetic has society become that they have to be noticed for everything these days.
Most of the Facebook pages of cats that I have liked are for cats with disabilities. Blind, missing a leg, etc. These cats would almost certainly have been euthanized if they were not "famous." I think cat Facebook pages are a great way for people to raise money to help disabled cats receive the treatment they need to lead full and happy lives with owners who love them.
Agree Mary. For instance, planet's favorite cat rescue group 10th Life has a FB page. They take in a lot of cats/kittens that need extensive and expensive surgery. Because of their page they are able to reach enough people that have the means to donate.
And Freed posted that link right before I was going to.
And Stl Dan is correct about Eric Davis' reaction to that throw
I have no problem w/ animal shelters having Facebook pages. Hopefully, you guys can see the difference between an animal shelter having a Facebook page to help generate donations & adoptions and these people who created a Facebook page for their cat as some claim to fame.

I see the difference. But can you really blame them when they see the likes of "Grumpy Cat." Who among us wouldn't do the same thing if we thought the end result was easy money.

I have no idea what "grumpy cat" is, but I'm sure it would just make me hate people even more.
Need a Cute Break? Foster Kitten Cam is a live stream that features kittens 24/7 and it's becoming a viral hit as people all over the world log on and hang out with kitten families being fostered by John Bartlett of Bothell. We'll meet 'Foster Dad John' and the lastest batch of kittens he's helping raise for adoption. Plus we'll find out how the Foster Kitten Cam has benefited all of the cats at Purrfect Pals, a no-kill cats only shelter in Arlington.
