So Bourjos maybe wasn't the awesome deal we were hoping for. Grichuk maybe.

I'm still bullish on Bourjos. I think he's a .750ish OPS guy offensively if playing every day, and is tremendous defensively. I LOVE watching that dude play D out in CF. But I would be 100% ok with sending him down right now. He looks really overmatched and his swing looks awful. Give him the Wong treatment, send him down and let him go figure it out.

The Blue Jays hitting coach is a former teammate of mine and I share at least one hitting instructor with him that I know was very influential with Seitzer. Knowing that, I would give 5:1 odds that this suggestion/correction came from the Blue Jays staff. In other words - Toby or whatever Colby's dad's name is is still tinkering with his kid is my bet.
Contract year. Still a head case, apparently.
FWIW, over the last week he's hitting .321 with 3 doubles, 4 homers, and 11 RBI. 9k's and only 2 walks though.

Nationals released OF Erik Komatsu.
Komatsu made it up to the majors with the Cardinals and Twins as a Rule 5 pick in 2012, but he hit only .167 last year and was off to a .188 start this season. The 26-year-old will now seek employment elsewhere.

Didn't realize that Komatsu was still with the Nats, it took 2 full years after being returned to the Nats and him hitting below the Mendoza line in AAA for them to finally cut him.

My depression over how crappy our offense is made me wonder how Carlos Beltran is doing.

.244/.296/.447

His ten doubles and five HR would be second on the Cardinals in either category, but that OBP is pretty ghastly.
