1. I don't know why the Search function worked for "watch" but didn't work for "former".

2. Jason Marquis is 35 and had Tommy John last year but still wants to pitch.

Saw Colby Rasmus for the first time this year and he really is trying some drastic things to get himself right. He starts with his hands extended over the plate, and then brings them back and uses it as some weird triggering method.

The Blue Jays hitting coach is a former teammate of mine and I share at least one hitting instructor with him that I know was very influential with Seitzer. Knowing that, I would give 5:1 odds that this suggestion/correction came from the Blue Jays staff. In other words - Toby or whatever Colby's dad's name is is still tinkering with his kid is my bet.

Contract year. Still a head case, apparently.

Colby is striking out at a 33% rate and walking at a 5% rate. It's early but these are the worst of his career, and that's saying something.

I just checked, and Colby's K-rate is the 3rd worst in MLB among qualified batters right now, behind only Chris Carter of the Astros and Abraham Almonte of the Mariners.

For additional perspective, Adam Dunn is #21 on the list.

Edward Mujica posting a 10.00 ERA through his first ten appearances. Bosox apparently being pressured by the media to sign Joel Hanrahan to make up for it.
