Planet Fitness is now the biggest fitness club in the country. Part of their growth is due to having a monthly free pizza night. Which leads to scenes like this:

Re: Getting into shape
Getting in shape. Ugh. I used to have a gf who was in shape but could give a [expletive] if I was in shape. She'd go for runs in the morning and I'd make us breakfast. It worked great for both of us. Now I have a gf who is on some mission from hell to get me in shape.
Here's the thing. I started "working out" when I was in 6th grade. By the time I was in 8th grade it was weights before school, practice after school. Summers were filled with various forms of working out. Often twice a day with some practice sprinkled in. Then I got hurt. Messed up my knee real good and couldn't walk for six months. I lost my baseball scholarship and worked extra hard to get ready to play sports in college. So I worked out more.
Finally at age 23 my athletic career was over. I don't know why but I didn't work out any more. It was [expletive] glorious. No more pain. No more getting up early. No more running. [expletive] it was good. Like two chicks at the same time good.
Now I'm 33. I'm a total fat ass. I'm still strong, but man am I out of shape. I'd be fine with not getting back into shape and dying young. In fact that sounds great. I guess other people have other plans. I hate getting into shape.

Re: Getting into shape
yeah i wish i liked working out too. when i was younger i was just playing neighborhood basketball, gym class, etc so i was getting exercise but it didn't feel like "work". now it does. i try to do *something* at least 2-3 times a week, not because i want to look amazing, but i know i need to get some sort of exercise in as im getting older (30). but i usually always dread it. though, i have ups and downs. sometimes i'll be real motivated for like a 2 week stretch, then i just cant get the motivation for 2 weeks and slack, etc, rinse/repeat. plus i think my mp3 player died and i really liked having that when i do walks (with brief running).
blah
blah

Everyone (well ok Michelle Obama) says "oh once you get going you will get addicted to it." No I won't. Everyday I do it is just another day I wish I had slept in a few hours longer.

It's your life. Do whatever makes you happy. I've always found living healthy, eating well, and exercising has made me feel better overall, but that may not be the case for everyone.IMADreamer wrote:Everyone (well ok Michelle Obama) says "oh once you get going you will get addicted to it."
