Only 22oz bombers. $11. Worth every dang penny. And right up jim's alley, I'm sure.haltz wrote:I'm sure they have 4 packs.jim wrote:Good [expletive] damn it.33anda3rd wrote:This is both awesome in concept and taste. It's at Binny's now, and the little guys who carry Pipeworks stuff.
for you guys around Chicago. Pipeworks is at 1675 N Western, at Wabansia/Western. There is a jiu jitsu studio next door, but they outgrew their space (apparently jiu jitsu is a growth industry, whatever) and that jui jistu stiudio is going to, in January, become a Pipeworks bottle shop/growler fill-erp-up. If you are not on these guys, get on these guys, they are doing great stuff. RateBeer named them best new brewery in the world in December 2012. Great great stuff.

I am furiously jealous about this, as I lived in Wicker Park my 3 years up there. Damn.
Honest admission, I never once went to the Goose Island brewery.

You wouldn't say that about a 2 X 4 so why say it about a 2 x 2?jim wrote:What kind of bull [expletive] is a 22 oz beer?

Re: The Beer Thread
A friend passed along his Goose Island Matilda last night, that wasn't to his liking. I took a sip and agreed -and passed it off to my wife who liked it Ok.go birds wrote:blue moon finally put out their winter abbey ale--i know what im sippin on tonight
One thing I've learned in beer drinking is - I really can't stand* Belgian style beers - Saisons, Abbey, dubbel, tripel, farmhaus etc. The experience of drinking a Belgian is akin to when I see a good looking Waldorf fruit salad and take a bite and instant recoil. Belgian style is the Miracle Whip of beer.
I'm fine with other people liking them -and usually they don't dominate a beer menu - but far too many times I've purchased one just to try something different, and yack...I don't think beer should taste like flowers.
*With rare exception I'll like something Belgian - but they are so rare that I scarcely can remember their names. I did like Aslyum Ale's Bedlam - but it was hopped up in good way and probably genre-bending.

Re: The Beer Thread
I love Belgian beers. Chimay was my introduction into non American beers back in the mid 80s.
