What I heard today... Franklin out this week against SC. Could possibly play the following week, but will rest the shoulder as long as Mauk is playing well enough. He is in for the bowl game.

The skeptic in me says put him in for A&M, but the rest of the teams on the schedule are beatable even with the "backup" - although it's looking good at the QB position for a couple of years at least.

And number 5 with a number 4or5 BCS maybe... great year so far.

MU a solid 5th in the initial BCS standings. FSU ahead of Oregon.

Going into this GA, FL, SC stretch, we would have been ecstatic with 2 out of three. Happy with one out three. Now I'll be disappointed if we don't sweep and get to A&M without a loss. WOW!

Great things are ahead for Mizzou IF the defense continues to create the same disruptive pass rush and stopping the run the way it has the first 7 games....not to mention continuing to force turnovers.

Need Maty Mauk and crew to minimize mistakes. Love how Josey/Murphy/Hansbrough are running the ball too.

What is Murphy's status after the leg injury, btw?

You would prefer Franklin to be playing but at least now Mauk is getting a lot of good experience here, since he'll be the full time starting QB next season after Franklin graduates.

I'm enjoying this but still leery. Things could go very wrong since this is Mizzou after all.

jl, what's that term we use for MU's reverse pixie dust?

Luke, I believe the term you're looking for is Winstonology. m+h=k, whereas m= Mizzou athletics, h= glimmer of hope, and k= kick in the nuts.

for the life of me, I couldn't remember.

tbh I'm fully expecting a kick in the nuts.

eta apparently sir winston at Mizzou Talk, creator/discoverer of the formula, died this summer. RIP Sir Winston. You were a wise man.

In some ways, this reminds me of when Chase Daniel took his first snaps under center in the middle of the season in relief of Brad Smith, who may have been injured. Chase did ok and showed he was going to be capable. Of course, we know what he did the next three years.
