Liking the Vienna lager style beer - had one recently at Schlafly's and from Civil Life. It's a back to basic lager, with a bit of sweetness to it - I sense it is much better on tap than bottled.

Learned from the Civil Life guys that their Viennese lager comes through Mexico a la Dos Equis

I was really hopeful that the hop craze is over and great breweries like Schlafly would come out with a fantastic, premium lager. I'll have to try some of that when I'm back in the area.

Atwater Vanilla Java Porter might be the best beer I've ever drank.

I realize it's not cool to succumb to IPA's anymore, yet Schlafy's Tasmania IPA is hoppy as heck, but good.

I may have to try it, but at this time of the year I get sucked into drinking Schlafly's pumpkin beer.

It's good, not great. Tastes almost same as Schafly American IPA.

Also tried the Eastside IPA put out by Excel Bottling in Breese IL. I don't care for it.

I'll probably pass then....my IPA phase is declining. I have a few I really like & don't stray from those very often anymore.

Having been head-over-heels for La Fin du Monde for a while, I finally picked up a Unibroue sampler pack. The Maudite was great too - you could tell it was the same brewery, but it was bolder and sharper. Working on the Trois Pistoles now, which is a bit heavier. I love those Quebecois bastards.
