interesting...JL21 wrote:The Star Trek scene was hilarious on its own, but it's even funnier considering what they were likely nodding to- Chekhov's gun.
Chekhov's gun is a dramatic principle which requires every element in a narrative to be necessary and irreplaceable, and for everything else to be removed.

Speaking of colors, some doofus named JL something covered it for Slate.

Gilligan spoke about the colors on Nerdist last week. Essentially, they represent the personality of the characters.

Maybe Walt Jr will eat too much breakfast.JL21 wrote: I've already seen a theory suggesting that someone's guts will explode from eating.

That guy clearly doesn't understand costume design or p-values/correlations so it's all useless and stuff.trill wrote:Speaking of colors, some doofus named JL something covered it for Slate.

First time I noticed was the Gray Matter party Walt and Skyler attend in one of the first few episodes. You could argue they went way overboard with it, but almost all the people at the party are in some variant of light cottony fabric of cream, khaki, or brown. Walt shows up in an old navy blue double breasted jacket and awful tie IIRC and Skylar has a gaudy (design wise) dark blue dress on, so they stick out like sore thumbs. I didn't think much about it after that until it became clear Marie was a purple freak.

It was just the other day that it dawned on me how they came up with the name "Gray Matter" and I felt kinda stupid that it took that long.

Wasn't that in dialogue in a later episode? White + Black = Gray?JL21 wrote:It was just the other day that it dawned on me how they came up with the name "Gray Matter" and I felt kinda stupid that it took that long.
