Bernie on the former 1B, one year later.
Maybe this should go on the Mozeliak thread?“My initial reaction was shock,” Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said Wednesday, in recalling the moment he received the bye-bye call from his agent, Dan Lozano. “When you negotiate to the very end and don’t get a deal done, the immediate feeling is one of disappointment and frustration.”
“We had a pity party at first,” Mozeliak said. “But after a few days, we knew we had to move forward without the most iconic player to come through St. Louis since Stan Musial. We rolled up our sleeves, and went back to work. We had to take a different path. But we were confident we could return to the postseason.”

It appears Skip has gone away from the crazy OCD between-pitch routine. PROGRESS!

Remember when Daric Barton was going to be a big deal?

I will maintain until the day that I die that the A's squandered Daric Barton's talent. I'm not sure how, but right after Moneyball came out, I think you could've handed Bryce Harper and Mike Trout to Billy Beane, and he would've turned them into So Taguchi and Shane Robinson.

Meanwhile, we've had a movie made about Billy Beane, and we're still waiting for the movie version of "Three Nights".

Judging by the recent Buzz Bissinger info, I don't want to see the movie version of Three Nights.Jmodene wrote:greenback44 wrote:I will maintain until the day that I die that the A's squandered Daric Barton's talent. As long as he's not in it, it doesn't matter. But if it does, we can always have a movie of "One More Strike" instead.

Buzz Bissinger also wrote Friday Night Lights which spawned a great movie and TV series about it.

I see Colby Rasmus has picked up where he left off last year. Hitting .163 this spring, with a whopping .302 SLG.
It's probably Larussa's fault.
