El Presidente - from the Dominican. It's ok but pretty undistinctive. Less flavor than the Kalik.
Man, you really liked Kalik? I drink it when I'm in the Bahamas, because its their local beer...but I can't go as far as saying its very good. I guess Red Stripe is a pretty good comp though.
I better get my taste for it soon since I will be in the Bahamas in less than 3 weeks.

I'm thinking jim would like raccoon piss in a can when he's in the Keys in January.

There is more to the beer than just the taste ... certainly memories of a place are a factor. My son loves Heineken because on a college trip he was in Europe and took a tour of the brewery. I think popeye is right - one of the worst beers on the market. I like 1667 because I drank it when I was in France, Peroni because I drank it in Italy, and I do like Kalik and El Presidente because I drank it in the Keys. I will say though I think I would like Kalik either way - I like Red Stripe and I've never drank it anywhere other than home.
Okay, I realize I have zero credibility when it comes to beer (JL confirmed) and it's known I prefer cocktails, but I think I found the nectar of the Gods and it's called Dragons Milk. Its a bourbon barrel stout that clocks in at an angry 10% ABV. Dragons Milk is a thick heavy beer that has some nice chocolate/vanilla sweetness to it. If you enjoy bourbon and beer you really owe it to yourself to try one. It's awesome.

If it lends some credibility to Michael's testimony, Dragon's Milk really is awesome.
Dragon's Milk is [expletive] awesome. It's so awesome, in fact, that it's all my beer geek friend asked for on his birthday.
Then again, drinking it the other night gave me a hangover that lasted 36 hours, so I'm not the hugest fan at this moment. But my own personal experience should not besmirch the good name of a killer product.
As Game of Thrones fans, we kept calling it "Daenerys T*ts". Which is nerdy as [expletive], I know.

Did this post really happen? It feels like my dad just told me he's proud of me.
Anyway, I'm not really a beer drinker, but Dragons Milk is a God-tier beverage that cannot be denied.
Oh, and anything more than 2 bottles of the stuff leaves me devastated the next morning. That's not a bad thing considering it costs 16 dollars for 4 bottles here in Chicago.
Spent time in Holland, MI 3 summers ago, and one of the few memorable experiences from that trip was the time spent at the New Holland brewery and Dragon's Milk in particular.
