i dont know if there's a huge difference between top college and pro players though (if thats what you saying)...people know who's gonna go to the pros (even for just a shot). my brother tells a story of seeing kirk heinrich at a bar (he's a KU alum) and kirk was passed out/wasted in a booth with his friends and there was a line of girls grabbing his phone, putting their telephone number in it and then passing it to the next girl. these guys don't have a problem getting the attention of females.
But none of them got money from him, I assume. That's the difference.

From a college athlete? I'm not sure why it would be. I don't know that college athletes have a ton of money to throw around. In the case of college athletes, I think women are typically in it for the attention from the most popular guy on campus.

i personally don't believe that most college athletes (or at least the most famous/successful) aren't receiving some sort of money on the side...but again i've got issues with college athletics. but even if he is living like a "normal" college student i'm sure the ladies are assuming he's gonna get money.
Digesting this crazy story a little bit more...The story itself is just bizarre, but the media angle on it is a bit spooky. At best, it was just shoddy journalism...but even that is a bit scary, because look at how many large, national news organizations were duped.
What is worse is that this scandal has kind of exposed how much of our media is simply paper-thin hype for college football disguised as "news"...and it turned out to be a lot of it. If that is the case with this story, then how many other stories are exaggerated, not investigated properly, or otherwise wrong? They lost a ton of credibility. Any time I hear a "feel good" story like this now, I will have a small doubt in the back of my head, rightly or wrongly.

Was this really right before the huge payday? This realationship was months and months ago. Te'o's huge payday probably is still months and months away.
I couldn't care less about the background stories. College Gameday is fun to watch because 1. Corso is an idiot and 2. well, if you're hungover, and there's nothing else on...why not. Other than that, the games are more than enough to keep me interested. This was the first time I had heard of his gf.
