That was more of a coaches screw up IMO, especially the ones in the booth. using 5 WR and no backfield when you are at the opponents 30 is just plan stupid and the SEC will laugh at you

Yeesh, guys. Franklin's hurt. Healthy Franklin doesn't play this way. He's a good college QB playing with a [expletive] up knee and a [expletive] up shoulder.
No matter what happens from here on out, this is easily the best Mizzou has played all year.

I'd also add that if you think this is horrible QB play, then you haven't watched Berkstresser all year. Franklin's game today has been bad- I'm not going to argue that- but it's been light years ahead of Berkstresser.

Franklin may be playing w/multiple injuries but some of the decisions he has made in this game have been downright disturbing...injuries do not make you throw the ball 5 yards above/behind the receiver

I simply can't agree with you that Franklin is a good QB. No accuracy, no touch, he doesn't recognize what the defense is doing and adjust his protection, route or play.
Hurt or not, he's had simple, easy throws to guys wide open and he either doesn't see it, or straight misses it.
You can't win with a QB who plays like this.
Edit: Griesd and I are riding shotgun in the hater parade against James Franklin.

You're right, I haven't watched the backup play. If he's worse than Franklin, you need to hit the recruiting trail.JL21 wrote:I'd also add that if you think this is horrible QB play, then you haven't watched Berkstresser all year. Did you watch last year at all? If your sole basis for grading Franklin is today, it's like looking at the Gibson HR in the World Series and saying Dennis Eckersley was a horrible closer.phins wrote:I simply can't agree with you that Franklin is a good QB. I'm not going to argue that he's played like crap today. He has. But having a gimpy shoulder and a gimpy leg to push off on is a big deal.
As for Berkstresser, he's a freshman. A talented one, but still a freshman, and he plays like one a lot.

I did watch a few Mizzou games last year and he used his legs a lot more. I'm sure being hurt has impacted that, but man oh man has he sucked today.

On the bright side, Mizzou's got a defense. Wonder if Sheldon Richardson comes back?
