Re: The 2012 Mizzou Football Thread
As crazy as it sounds, I thought that was the best drive Mizzou's offense has had all year, especially given the quality of Florida's defense.
-they got their skill guys open in space
-the QB wasn't launching [expletive] into the next county (like Berkstresser has done so much)
-they ran the ball well

I'm not surprised that the defense has played well but you have to be pleasantly surprised that the offense hasn't looked like a hot turd sandwich against a VERY good Florida defense. Other than the Franklin pick, of course.

I can only follow online but it sounds like the defense is playing awesome. Hopefully they don't get worn down in the second half. A win in the swamp would be a pretty big deal.

Re: The 2012 Mizzou Football Thread
They've played really well. Florida has had a few decent drives to mid-field that have crapped out. When Florida's punter has pinned Mizzou deep in their own territory, the offense has actually had a few decent drives to flip the field.
Sheldon Richardson blocked a FG attempt, and they've forced two fumbles (recovered one). They're also knocking a lot of Driskel's passes down at the line of scrimmage.
It's been a fine line. Driskel's missed a few wide open guys and they've had a drop or two in big spots. Hoch made a crazy shoestring tackle on what would've been a huge Driskel run.
The good news about keeping the defense fresh is that Mizzou's winning the time of possession with 17+ minutes so far. Having an offense that's just average instead of miserable, backed up by the Mizzou D, makes such a huge difference.

Mizzou looks like the better team on the field today IMO

We're watching different games I think. This is one of the worst performances by a QB I've seen all year. The kid has had open receivers all day and he won't just set his feet, stand tall and make an accurate throw.
Half the snaps he pulls his eyes down as soon as the ball snaps and starts looking at the rush, a fourth of the time he's sensing phantom pressure and running towards defensive players that would go right behind him if he stepped up.
Mizzou has easily been the better team, but are leaving points on the field and that'll cost them eventually.

Well the last time Mizzou beat a top 10 team in true road game: in 1981, 14-3 at No. 9 Mississippi State (in Jackson)....
