Are the first couple seasons on Netflix instant?Popeye_Card wrote:Since I have no more baseball and no hockey to watch this fall, I am very happy season 4 of Sons of Anarchy is finally coming to Netflix this weekend. Then I can finally watch the season 5 episodes hogging space on my DVR.
(I was late to the SOA party, only picking up on it this summer for seasons 1-3 on Netflix.)

First 3, yes. I assume the 4th will be on instant coming this weekend.cardinalkarp wrote:Are the first couple seasons on Netflix instant?Popeye_Card wrote:Since I have no more baseball and no hockey to watch this fall, I am very happy season 4 of Sons of Anarchy is finally coming to Netflix this weekend. Don't give up after the first few episodes if you're wary on it. Takes a little bit to build up steam. Season 2 is the best of the first 3.cardinalkarp wrote:Sounds like I've got something to kill some hours then!Popeye_Card wrote:First 3, yes. Hey, the Daily Show filming was super fun.
Random comedian type hype-man came out before filming to get the crowd all, you know, laughin and stuff. He did a great job. There may or may not have been a plant in the audience - he called out a random dude for being well-dressed, teased him for being a lawyer. Guy embarrassingly said he was a concierge. Hype guy moved away to make more random-chat with the audience when a gal a few down from concierge guy yelled out "He's celebrating his wedding!". Hype guy came back and asked if chick next to concierge was the lucky gal, and she clearly was not with his party. His husband proudly stood up, crowd went nuts. Hype guy seemed caught quite off-guard, and did a good job of recovering himself. The whole thing got about as big a rise from the crowd as any of the actual show's jokes. My friend insisted that the whole thing was a plant, just to get the liberal crowd excited. I thought it was all very honest, and worth a long paragraph here.
The actual filming of the show was very fast - no re-takes. Stewart was very funny when off-camera, doing kind of a mini-comedy set for the crowd. All in all it was very, very entertaining. And I'm super proud to have seen Dakota Meyer, who got a damned Medal of Honor for disobeying his CO's orders and saving a bunch of lives. The dude was awesome, and very genuine. I hope it came off as well on TV as it did in person. Crowd went nuts for him.
Yay. (also I got to meet Stewart very briefly, and talked to Samantha Bee about her family's pumpkin carving. That was absurdly awesome for me. She is kick-ass.) Oh and I got a picture of me in Stewart's make-up chair, as that was my connection to the whole back-stage deal. Please forgive my blabbering. It was really entertaining.

I have not been following this so forgive me if it's being repeated, but that Modern Family is hilarious. It's become my favorite comedy. The fat gay guy is my favorite.

Eh... I think I'm just going to stop watching it here. I can't imagine there isn't going to be some deus ex machima coming to reset what just happened and destroy the evidence.ghostrunner wrote: Homeland:
Only one-third of the way through, but this season actually deserves the Emmys it didn't deserve for last season. Brody is doing some ridiculous things, but the performances are really good and they're not dragging anything out. It's sort of like if Deb found out about Dexter in Season 2, episode 4.
