Love that show. They were playing it on BBC America.

Though they skipped over the detail of Henry VIII being a lardass.

Ah! I am only on season 3, I assumed his fatness was coming.

He didn't get fat until after he suffered a major leg injury while jousting and could no longer do a lot of the stuff he had when younger. He was considered pretty hot stuff throughout Europe when he was younger.

I was thinking that was well before the beginning of the show, but maybe not.
I'm starting to feel serious tension during every scene involving Walt. Bryan Cranston plays it with so much menace and Walt's volatile ego and hubris just makes me uncomfortable. That's the point, it's just that they're doing an incredible job doing what they said they would do and that doesn't usually happen on TV.

I'd never argue in favor of the absolute historical accuracy of The Tudors, and I don't know exactly where they are in the chronology, but Henry was two or three years into his marriage to Anne Boleyn before he suffered the injury, and after that, it wasn't like he immediately inflated. There's speculation that he may have suffered a brain injury and resulting personality shift in the same accident.
