GoT -

I was just coming around to deciding to read the books and find out what happens, but I hear the books apparently don't mean [expletive] at this point.

I know this -
[SHOW]
the House of the Undying went down like a chump
.

Re: the books. Not true. Trending that way, but not quite different enough yet.

Anybody get what happened to winterfell? Are you supposed to think Bolton's men burned it down trying to get Theon's people out?

I don't know if it was to get Theon's people out as much as maybe Theon or just out of spite? Didn't Robb offer them terms of surrender - everyone can live if they hand over Theon? Maybe the burned it to get Theon out, but I can't imagine Robb had Winterfell surrounded and let Greyjoy's army out without taking Theon as well. So my guess is pure spite.

Anyone still watching The Killing? It's actually been pretty good lately and has come full circle back to Richmond.

We believe he was set up by the incumbent mayor (can never remember his name) or someone in the office. What was the deal with photos of Rosie in sams desk drawer? Is that a new revelation?

Also holder and linden need to bone and get it over with.

GoT: almost caught up....second to last episode....[expletive] got real. Best episode yet IMO.

They have played around with tertiary characters and a few major plot arcs, but Benioff and Weiss have shown themselves to be entirely capable of tightening up Martin's 1000+ pages into 10 episodes. I don't mind where they went with the House of the Undying. The book's prophecies are mystical and confusing, I don't believe they could have filmed those scenes in anyway that wouldn't have been incredibly spoilery. Instead, we end up with a really poignant emotional scene, and the payoff is the same in the end.

Yeah, [expletive] just got really real.

Did you notice who was riding with Tywin Lannister?
