Re: The Video Game Thread
Yeah man, I think buyers get a second referral key thingy to have a friend try (although I assume they'll follow their WoW and SC2 models and have it freely available soon or even immediately).
Its 145 now. Servers are live at 3am. I have the next two days off (gosh I didn't ask off the 15th, nahhh), and will basically not leave my computer for two days except to use the john, pick up delivery food, and go on a morning run. I might cancel the runs. Yeah. I'm more nerd excited right now than, like, ever.

Re: The Video Game Thread
So is D3 strictly multiplayer game, or does it actually have a regular single player campaign mode?

my understanding is that you have to be online to play it. you can play by yourself, but it has to be online...mac would know better than i though.Swirls wrote:So is D3 strictly multiplayer game, or does it actually have a regular single player campaign mode?

Re: The Video Game Thread
I got my copy of Diablo 3 today, installed the game, created a player, started playing what looked like a tutorial single player mode--and then got the message that the servers were going down. It came with four guest passes, three for Diablo 3 and one for World of Warcraft, so if anyone wants to try them, PM me and I will send you the pass key.

Re: The Video Game Thread
I got most of the way through act 2. Got a nice nap between, oh, 5 and 8 maybe. Terrific, satisfying gameplay thusfar. The social features are a total joke - battle.net on the original Diablo 14 years ago was a friendlier place. totally stupid decision on Blizz's part.
Other than that, I can't complain about anything. Bummer the server's down for an hour, but that gives me time to run and errand or two.
I see their logic in making it online-only, but it's pissing off a lot of impatient people right now.

Re: The Video Game Thread
Played last night for like 15 min, but I have to say it looks very good. Looking forward to playing some more this weekend, and after watching some gameplay footage, I'm tempted to buy it.

Re: The Video Game Thread
as i mentioned above, the game installed fine and doesn't appear to have any issues (while gaming)...but i do notice it gets my laptop quite hot...i dont know if running on lower settings would help that but i'd hate to "hurt" my laptop 'cause of it...
