Pre-ordered and pre-downloaded Diablo 3. Even took the 16th as my day off this week for a mega-play session.

Couple nerdy concerns - the Launcher is still a glitchy PITA. Doesn't get along with win7's administrator stuff. I had to enable the global administrator account to get the thing to work correctly, which is pretty obnoxious. I don't want to have to log over to that account every time I play. Stupid.

I hate, hate, hate the privacy on the game. I've already changed my BattleTag garbage off my beloved Maclowery, since it shows all over the place in game instead of your character names. And the battle.net armory thingy is going to display everything in the damn world about your entire account - playtimes, all character progress, etc. Nothing can be hidden. Basically, I want to be able to play as much as I want without someone saying "Hey, dude, you should go outside, last night you played your wizard for 6 hours."

Looks like yes, but it's going to suck on a laptop.

Diablo 3 doesn't seem to have very stringent requirements, but it's still going to run poorly on a laptop that isn't a dedicated gaming laptop.

Bugger that. With an i7 and a 1gig 540, I would expect you'll run it at standard graphics settings just fine. Soon they're releasing a free-to-play 'starter edition' so you'll be able to get that and see how it runs before you buy.

I am very excited for it to be 3am.

if you know anybody that's buying it, or if you wait 30 days, you can download a free trial that takes you thru act I of the game

I'd probably try that out and see how it works. I think your laptop should run it fine, though. I can't imagine DIII is too intensive on a graphics card.
