Yeah, so it appears Walking Dead is finally rounding into the form of what it should be. That was an awesome episode.

I'm glad that South Park finally touched on a core issue for me: Lazy [expletive] who won't simply check to make sure the toilet seat is down before sitting on it.

So I've been listening to some interviews (from podcasts) with Dan Harmon at work. Dude is intimidatingly knowledgeable, intelligent and quick. But it also strikes me as kind of strange that Community is what comes out of that brain of his.

I don't know, I think it's lost me. I finished out the season but even found the final two episodes incredibly tedious and pretty boring. Like The Killing, I think the show might have wasted too much time to recover. What happened in this entire season? They dicked around on the farm a lot then Rick stabbed Shane and went all Heart of Darkness. In the meantime we had to watch some really repetitive inter-character conflict plots repeat themselves over and over. I've come to the conclusion that almost all the actors are really bad. Lori and Carl are particularly grating. Rick Just stares and shakes most of the time and looks like he's got a really bad flu. Truly none of them, with the exception of Dale, did anything to develop their character enough to make me care if they live or die. To top it off the details of the action scenes have become outrageous and nonsensical. How many shots did Herschel get off in that magic shot gun? 150? Must be hard to carry that much ammo in your pockets. The list of that stuff goes on. I get that there is a suspension of disbelief element to all this but many of the scenes no longer make basic sense.

edit: I mean, the writing is just truly awful. Like mentioned above, Lori is all of a sudden repulsed by Rick after he tells her he killed Shane? Two episodes prior she was whispering in his ear that Shane was dangerous and planting the seeds of his destruction. It doesn't make any damn sense. The show is full of that stuff. Doesn't someone edit the thing? Don't people read the scripts and ask if it makes any sense for this character to say these words and behave in this way?

i think rick (the actor anyway) is really actually english so his southern-ish accent is pretty awful.

i enjoyed season 2 a lot. i think its a fair comment to say the season was slow...but i dont think that makes it bad. lori's character is annoying, carl is just a bad actor but other than that i dont have any complaints. you need character development, even if you personally are not satisfied with the developments.

it was strange, andreas annoyed me a lot this season, but i was happy that she survived.

If the show was nothing but random killing of zombies every week then that would get a bit repetitive.

I agree with a lot of this. The season did start slowly. We talked about that around here. They spent a lot of time searching the woods for Sophia. But, I understand the writer's purpose in that after the fact. They had to set up the love affair between Glenn and Maggie, build the relationship between Daryl and Carol, increase the tension between Shane and Dale, and make Herschel's fall from righteousness believable. And unfortunately, all that dragged out the drama between Shane, Rick, Lori, and Carl.

They also fell into the trap of believing they were safe on the farm. They tried to put down roots and begin constructing a new life, but that just was never realistic or possible. Now, their world is falling apart around them again and they will have to go to even greater extremes to learn how to survive and a whole new group of characters will be thrown into the mix.

In retrospect, it all kind of fits, but yeah, it was slow as molasses during the first half of the season.
