I'm a little hesitant to take Steve Berthiaume's word on a video game, but I've got a $100 gift card to GameStop that I have to use some time, I've got three more weeks of vacation I'm taking, and I own zero PS3 games aside from the Uncharted series. It's a little funny that Berthiaume is overall gushing with praise but 2/3s of the review is complaints about the imperfections.

Mass Effect 2 and 3, then I will shoot you in the face, or set you on fire with biotics.
Though, MLB 12 The Show is probably good too.

Pulse pitching is [expletive] awful. You have to have incredible timing just to get your pitching zone down to a third to 40% of the size of the entire strike zone. This was with Chris Carpenter, btw.

My PS3 just died.
Considering the PS3 slim...or just flipping off Sony and building a PC.

Re: The Video Game Thread
BTW, MLB 12 The Show is the worst baseball video game I've played in a decade. The control for pitching is [expletive] terrible, and even when you turn it off and go with the simple button-pushing controls pitchers have absolutely no control. Maybe it's realistic to have pitchers unable to hit corners or even sides of the plate with any consistency and to lose the strike zone completely every few innings, but it sure as hell isn't fun. I've already given up on this [expletive] game and edited/traded myself a superstar rotation, and if I want to throw a low inside fastball I have to aim for the low inside corner of the center 1/9th square of the strike zone.
The defense is absolute [expletive] too. Maybe they made Freese and Furcal absolutely useless defenders, but I have yet to make a play on the left side of the infield that wasn't hit directly at the fielder. Roller two feet to Freese's left, so I press that direction and he'll take one step that direction, stop, and do this infuriating olé motion as the ball rolls past him into the outfield. That [expletive] happens 1-2 times per game. Also, I just learned that if I hit X an extra time during the pitching sequence, the game keeps that in memory and figures I meant to bring the ball home no matter what, so 3-5 seconds later when I field the ball, the fielder immediately throws home. In short, I've thrown my controller across the room twice, screamed some variant of "[expletive] this stupid game!" at least a dozen times, and successfully completed all of two ballgames in four days of owning this piece of [expletive].

There is apparently a Boondock Saints video game in development. A few screens have been released and it looks like an early PS2 game, but I guess anyone who liked that movie isn't too discerning anyway so why put any effort into making the game not suck?

Have you guys heard about the Battlefield DLCs? One is a close quarters expansion and the other armored type maps. Sounds like they will be pretty good. New guns and such as well. I've been in a bit of a video game funk lately and haven't played much.

Crazy deals on XBL Gold memberships lately. I just snagged a 12 month for $34, since mine expires on Thursday.
