I have a confession to make.
When The Killing ended last season, I ranted and raged like a total self-righteous dick but made a lot of valid criticisms about how stupid and arrogantly that show handled the season, but when I saw a promo for it during Walking Dead last Sunday...I think I'm back in despite swearing to never, ever give it another chance.

Speaking of the Walking Dead, anyone else liking the second half of this season? I thought the first half started crazy slow with the whole group spending half their time roaming the woods looking for that girl. Now, they're struggling not so much with the walkers but with the social issues inherent in a world in anarchy.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the rest of this season is about a Hatfield/McCoy-esque turf war between Rick's group and the group that kid they captured is with. Inevitably that kid will escape, make his way back to his people, and they'll try to take the farmhouse.
[SHOW]
Also, anyone else love how they feel so free to kill characters off even when they've invested time developing them? Reminds me of Martin's approach in Game of Thrones (the books, at least). Major character? Kill 'em! Minor character? Kill 'em! Popular character? Kill 'em! Dale was a highly developed character that played a vital role in the group. He was annoying at times, but they built him up from the first couple episodes of the show as the one remaining voice of culture and history. Kill 'em!

I can't do it. I just can't do it. I'm sticking to my self-righteous dickery guns.

I'm with JL. In fact, I didn't even watch the last 3 episodes of last season, because [expletive] them. That show was just... no, that behavior will not be rewarded.

i'll just spoil my repsonse
[SHOW]
i was definitely surprised that dale got ripped open (damn!) but you need to be able to have major/minor characters die off to make it seem more "real", in my opinion. and i think its interesting that herschel has basically just checked out. even as the owner of the land/farm he is now deferring to rick. and that damn kid, carl. never cared for him before, mostly 'cause i thought the actor was bad (not that child actors usually are) but then his character goes and loses a gun and gets dale killed...can't stand him! ( i know i know, character development). lori's pretty useless too, thinking the women should do the housework while the men do the killin'. i didn't buy andrea suddenly getting on dale's side as far as the execution goes, shes a flip flopper! oh well. daryl is a badass, needs more killin' time. major props to glenn for getting with maggie...now thats a farmers daughter. oh and i love trying to see what t-dog is gonna do...they have really put him on the back burner hah. its almost comical at this point. regardless of all that, i really love the show and am always amazed at what they can show graphically in each episode...there's always one scene where its like, "damn, i can't believe they showed that"

my predictions for the final 2 episodes. shane gets killed (mostly 'cause i heard the actor has signed on for a new show next year) and that randalls group starts a ruckus. more specifically im inclined to think that randalls group is actually the "governors" group. an actor has been hired to play the govenor for season 3.

Is The Good Wife something anyone watches? I started reading a New Yorker article about it that made it sound really interesting.

The GF is an ardent Good Wife viewer, she speaks highly of it. I've been known to linger in the doorway on my way out when it's on.

I've got episode one, still haven't gotten around to watching it.

From what I hear, it's a really good show with a bad title. I've been reluctant because I wasn't interested in another lawyer drama. But I've heard good things from people with pretty good taste.

still haven't finished the story but I did read that some critics/fans referred to it as The Wire Lite for all the undercurrents and continuing story lines
