Re: Cats
General Anesthesia for a Dog at the vet I used to work at was charged at roughly $125. With hospital costs of holding the animal during the day, and the cleaning itself, a dogs teeth cleaning was generally around $250, plus sometimes more if teeth needed to be pulled. I wasn't there when we had a cat come in that needed to be knocked out for shots (yes, this cat was rather psychotic), but $2,000 for a teeth cleaning is absolutely absurd.

Re: Cats
Hey sigh, sorry if that came off as rude. DrunkMac loses again. I dont even remember what you posted now. My apologies, and keep being my favorite GRB poster.
On topic: My cat I gave away when I moved to NYC died. He wasn't even two. Feline leukemia. The family was pretty torn up about it, and they only had Walter for a couple months. Looking back, the day I gave him away he was weirdly sluggish, and I guess never was truly healthy in their house. I've owned two cats, both looked almost identical, and both died before they were 2. My next animal will be a huge dog, someday, and he'd better live to be 20, damnitall.
Little Walter: Grown Walter: RIP Walter :/

Re: Cats
Yeah, sorry Mac.
Okay. Another cat question for those of you that have them, since I didn't get any responses to the last question.
A friend has a cat. If she doesn't let the cat out, it tears up the walls in her house. Like will scratch the insulation behind her washer/dryer or will scratch the mattress and is damaging it. (Yes, it has one of those poles that it's supposed to scratch or whatever, but it doesn't) Further, it is nocturnal and will meow all night and keep her up and not stop trying to play. If she let's it out, it comes back like poisoned or something and stinks and is in general all jacked up. She's torn up b/c she doesn't know what to do.
I said make it a permanent outside cat, but she feels bad doing that. Any suggestions?
/I hate cats.

Re: Cats
Your friend's cat sounds neurotic from being bored. Probably not the suggestion she would like to hear but I would recommend getting another cat so the one she has has someone to play with while she's not there/trying to sleep.AWvsCBsteeeerike3 wrote:Yeah, sorry Mac.

FYI, permanent outdoor cats do not have a very long lifespan.
