Re: The Video Game Thread
What's the best way to find out if my connection to PSN is somehow really laggy? I can accept that I suck at Uncharted 3, but there are times that I literally unload an entire M9 clip into someone at close range, reload, and get off 2 or 3 more shots before they turn and down me with 2 shots. I also recently got killed by a grenade that somehow must have made a 90 degree turn about 2/3s of the way through its arc in order to hit me unless the game thought I was where I had been about 15 seconds earlier.
On the game select screen, it always shows my signal strength completely empty, but I'd assumed that was standard since I have 15 Mbps cable internet. Is that the case or not?

Anyone else notice that sports games today look like Dreamcast launch titles from 13 years ago? Look how far every other genre has come. Pro leagues granting exclusive licenses is going to destroy sports gaming.

Lack of competition always sucks for the consumer. I don't know how well the MLB2K series does saleswise but as long as Madden (which is basically where it started) keeps selling, NFL exclusivity will keep trucking along.cpebbles wrote:Anyone else notice that sports games today look like Dreamcast launch titles from 13 years ago? This is the last year of 2K's deal with MLB. I'm curious to see if EA gets back into it after that.

I was done after the Jose Reyes one the year before. I don't think I even played 10 full games on it.Jocephus wrote:i bought the 2k series baseball game with lincecum on the cover. never again.

Re: The Video Game Thread
The one and only baseball video game I ever bought was MLB MVP 2004, and largely only because Jose Pujols was on the cover.
I didn't play it for long because the easy mode was way too easy (throw a splitter on two strikes and you'll get a swing and miss strikeout 95% of the time) and the harder modes were far too hard (anyone less than Roger Clemens couldn't throw a shutout).
I'm really not much into sports video games.
