Christmastime is awesome.

Troeg's Mad Elf christmas spiced ale. 11%abv.

Ordered one as my third beer while tryin out a sister pub to mine. Got another, then realized I had a damn healthy buzz, and looked up what I ordered (the bartender called it a Medium bodied beer, I wonder what he thinks a full bodied one is like)

Its terrific. Warm and spicy, smooth and dangerous. Must find bottles, paying 10 a pint here is fun but rather damaging.

Southern Tier 2xIPA is fantastic. Nice hops with a bit of an alcohol kick at 8.2%abv. Really good.

Should have had that last night, but opted for Perennial's Peace Offering ( low and behold it's made with Squash -it wasn't too bad and impressive that they made it palatable, but not my style.)

And on the red rye Founders- I've yet to find a beer of Founders that I don't like.

I had a Peace Offering recently and felt pretty much the same. Loved the Abraxamas.

Where was your drinking taking place?

went out to a nice holiday dinner with friends at Home Wine Kitchen in Maplehood . 2nd time there , good little place, on the expensive side -seems like they are going after the FarmHaus overflow (I say that even though I've never been to Farmhaus) - locally grown, small changing menu etc.

Had a good Southern Tier product there on last visit - Iniquity - Imperial Black Ale.

I've heard that too - that looks pretty damn good. I didn't see it on the menu last night. Had an excellent beef fillet there. Supposed to have a good brunch also.

Beer selection is revolving cast of characters, just a couple microbrews on tap and maybe 18 kinds of good beers in bottles.
That's enough for me to work with.

Place on Sutton called "the Wood" (formerly Deluxe Diner) has a pretty good beer selection. Not sure how long they make it though -seemed a bit quiet in there.
