Seriously, just get anything made by Shlafly and you can't go wrong. Last night I had the oatmeal stout and the coffee stout. Awesome stuff. The Pale Ale, Hefeweizen, APA, Kolsch, Winter ESB are all great.
Almost forgot, had this one: http://www.schlafly.com/beers/styles/bo ... ial-stout/
Absolutely amazing.

I was at a bar that had mainly a 1995 beer selection (busch products), so got a chance to enjoy Kolsch on tap there.TGantz wrote:Seriously, just get anything made by Shlafly and you can't go wrong. Am hoping to use the schlafly tour and tasting that I bought at a charity auction. Anyone done that tour? in other words, how long do they let you sit there and sample free beers on the tour?

Wow, that looks tasty. My weekend in 'Sconnie included the Capital Supper Club, New Glarus' Two Women and Wisconsin Bock, and Ale Asylum's Contorter Porter. The Contorter Porter was out of this world.

This is probably the best Oktoberfest I've tasted. Paulaner's is good too.
Leinenkuegel makes a really good one from a domestic point of view.

Re: The Beer Thread
We had it for a few weeks for a seasonal tap. Really popular. I enjoyed it. People are still asking for it, and I enjoy the chance to be a dick and say "sorry, you're a month late."
Our Flying Dog K-9 winter ale is more interesting anyway.

I miss the No 15. Anyone know if I can still get it anywhere?TGantz wrote:Seriously, just get anything made by Shlafly and you can't go wrong. Last night I had the oatmeal stout and the coffee stout. Awesome stuff. The Pale Ale, Hefeweizen, APA, Kolsch, Winter ESB are all great.

Re: The Beer Thread
I've been on the Schlafly tour at Bottleworks. It was good. A short tour, compared to AB, of course. But you get to taste whatever you want! My tour only had like 8 other people. We basically sat around the tap room and had whatever we wanted for about an hour. They give you little 8 oz glasses, but didn't seem to have a problem letting me try 5 or so beers, including some Special Reserves they had.Freed Roger wrote:I was at a bar that had mainly a 1995 beer selection (busch products), so got a chance to enjoy Kolsch on tap there.TGantz wrote:Seriously, just get anything made by Shlafly and you can't go wrong. Re: The Beer Thread

I had a bunch of this when I was home this past weekend. It was so good that I almost started crying. I really love bourbon. I really love beer. This tasted like a good ale with a pure bourbon flavor without the heavy alcohol flavor. I had it at dinner 1 night, then I went out and bought a 4 pack to bring home... I drank it all that night. Oh well, I'll be back in KY in 2 weeks.
