I used to love Buffalo Bill's Pumpkin Ale but it's been years since I've had one.

Re: The Beer Thread
This beer drinker is going to winery on saturday and don't care to drink bad wine.
IIRC, the winery does serve up some crappy Inbev products etc (and to add insult, they charge $6 or something like that + tip).
I'm trying to figure out what to do - my plan right now is to smuggle in 3 or 4 good beers in a coat and then put them in a coolie. I'll probably buy a token beer from them just for show first.
Anyway I saw this article giving tips on how to make a bad beer drinkable

Re: The Beer Thread
Founders Porter - Porter is not my favorite style beer, but it is good and filling for when I am only drinking one beer. And Founders makes a good one, same for everything they make- it is rounding into my favorite overall brewery.
Now I see that RateBeer gives it 100 -which you would think is rare, but most all beers that I've tried and looked up are 80 up. So am starting to get suspicious that ratebeer doesn't exactly grade with even distribution scoring.
But I did manage to find a beer rated below ten - and it's Lakefront New Grist

fortunately I didn't try it.

"Only 3.5% of cancer deaths world-wide (230,000 a year) are attributable to alcohol, according to a 2006 analysis of World Health Organization data." Feel free to skip the rest of this article.

One of the things that many of my friends and I agreed on this past weekend is we really don't give a [expletive] if alcohol kills us or not. We aren't stopping, and that's that.
Schlafly APA and Oktoberfest this weekend. Big thumbs up. Schlafly is right up there with New Glarus in terms of brewers that have never disappointed me.

Rate beer 2011 best brewers in the world
Glad to see some brewers I like up there. Tried about 20 of those brewers in some capacity . So good to see I have a lot more beer to try. Goose Island #10, not an expert on that brewer, but that seems high from what I hear.

Re: The Beer Thread
That's a gluten-free beer. Know that because the daughter is Celiac. Most of the GF beers (like Redbridge) are pretty bad. When we were at Llewellyn's last weekend for the parade, she ordered a Strongbow hard cider because it's just naturally GF. Most of the time when stuff like beer is altered to make it GF it tastes like crap.Freed Roger wrote:Founders Porter - Porter is not my favorite style beer, but it is good and filling for when I am only drinking one beer. Re: The Beer Thread
Who knew that the magical ingredient that makes beer so amazing is gluten?
My beer aficionado friend has been raving about the Shiner Holiday Cheer for 24 hours now. Something about a distinct taste of pecans and a tiny hint of peach that doesn't turn it fruity but smooths everything out.
