My wife and my buddy's wife are doing girls night out. He and I are watching the kids. They'll be locked in the basement while we get the best HD TV in the house. I may slide some food under the door at some point. If the dog beats them to the food, well, survival of the fittest. Good learning experience for them.

Wife is out of town, so I have both kids to myself. 7:30 bedtime? You betcha.

I really should let my son stay up and watch the game, but he's still too young to appreciate it the significance of it. If we reach the NLCS, I hope to take him to a game. Then he'll understand.

Can't watch. Hope the collective angst of this board shifts the universe in the Cardinals' favor and I get to see them in the NLCS.

My son is only 5. He knows Pujols and that's it. And he roots against the Cubs...except for DeWitt. He does like Blake. Other than that, he knows nothing else and doesn't care. My daughter is 9. She knows a lot of the Cards players, and she wants them to win. She knows very little about baseball and doesn't really care.

My buddy's son is 10, and he's a really good baseball player. Starting pitcher on a team this summer that won regionals in North Dakota (and started 3 of the 4 games they won). He'll probably watch with us while the other 3 stay in the basement. We'll teach him how bad Philly fans are.

My rowdy friends recently lost their job thanks to their loudmouth boss, so I am inviting them over to hopefully cheer them up.

Glad to see wholesome family values are not dead.

Did anyone watch the Yanks game last night? I'm curious how the perception is about how tight both the team and fans were. I expect it to be very tight in Philly, and I'm not sure I've seen a Cards team this loose.

Not that it will translate into a win, but I certainly think it helps.
