Yeah, I gave up completely on the show. Watched the first two episodes this season, and I'm done. I trust that someone will let me know if it becomes funny again.

I'm in the same camp. Off the top of my head I can't think of another show that fell so hard so fast. For three seasons it was side splittingly hilarious and then it just died a sudden, unfunny death. Now they're just trotting the corpse around.

Season 3 is when they hired a writing staff instead of doing them all themselves.

Season 4 had my favorite episodes. Gas Crisis, cannibalism, An Erotic Life. Season 5 I didn't like at all. I thought 6 was going to rebound with a decent opener, but that kids pageant one might have killed the series forever for me. I winced the whole time, and never even smiled once.

The show is clearly not what it once was, but I though Frank as a creepy old man and the patriotic dance routine were pretty funny. The Jersey Shore episode was outstanding. Charlie on a fantasy date with the waitress who is high on ecstasy, Mac and Frank trapped in a small raft out to sea, and of course what took place under the boardwalk.
