to those that think Mizzou football will get beat up in the SEC, has Mizzou ever lost a game to an SEC opponent? Don't they have a great record against SEC teams?

I started following Mizzou right at the time their program turned around(2005), and Mizzou has won bowl games v. South Carolina and Arkansas, and swept a home and home against Ole Miss since then.

According to my very superficial research, it looks like Mizzou is 20-8-1 against SEC opponents, but I don't think many of those games have come in the recent past. They beat Ole Miss and Arkansas in 2007 (I think), but I don't remember them playing any SEC opponents since then.

I obviously don't have delusions that Missouri would become a top contender immediately, and it's not like they would only play Ole Miss and Arkansas every year, but I don't think success would be out of the question. I really don't.

You're right. It likely wouldn't be much different than having to face Texas and Oklahoma.

I also think Mizzou fans would love getting to visit places like Athens, Tuscaloosa, Baton Rouge, Knoxville, Auburn, Oxford and Fayetteville for football games.

I would imagine all these lawsuit shenanigans have effectively ruined any chance of another Big 12 team going to the SEC.

There's a ton of buzz right now about Mizzou potentially going to the SEC.

The Southeastern Conference has an offer on the table for Missouri to join its league, and SEC officials are willing to wait for an answer from Missouri until the future of the Big 12 is decided.

I like how every time a conference adds a team they report that that's all the conference wants to add.

We're going to end up with 4 16 Team Conferences that make up the BCS (Big Ten, SEC, ACC, PAC 12?? They should all be renamed), and then several other FBS conferences/Independents and then the FCS league. I can't believe that Notre Dame would watch all this happen and not sell their soul to the BCS now.

The real question to me is whether the MVC is going to try and grab some of the Big East/Big 12 leftovers that are heavy basketball schools and reorganize as a more powerful basketball conference. Because they should.

Anyway, this [expletive] rocks and I sort of want to be an OU fan now:

The University of Oklahoma is considering remaining in the Big 12, but only in a “reformed” version of the conference that includes hard and fast rules for Texas' Longhorn Network and removal of Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe, a high-ranking Big 12 source told The Oklahoman on Tuesday.

The source said the league presidents do not believe Beebe responded with adequate leadership to Nebraska's and Texas A&M's frustration. The Big 12 has lost three members in the last 15 months, and “the relationships were so bad (with) the commissioner,” the source said.
