I can't wait for Perennial to open. Their hommel bier was delicious.

Must admit, I know there is a snob-beer drinker backlash against the IPAs -but that is my beer of choice in summer. And the seasonal Schlafly's American IPA is a good one.

and a brag-have a trip to WI lined up for the Great Dane and New Glarus. Then probably will take a complimentary pee in the yard of the governor.

I wouldn't call it snobby at all. I'd call it pointing out that American small brewers were getting ridiculous with the hops, that it's really good to see that they are expanding their horizons and going after all sorts of other styles these days.

I agree, there was a time when American microbreweries thought more hops = better beer, and that is simply not true.

Which is what I was getting at -the neo-sentiment out there against IPAs - but in the summer heat I rarely feel like a barleywine or a stout-or the other extreme. (Bud Light Lime etal).

BTW- I recently was trapped in a "Bud Light is the only beer available" scenario. man is that beer awful. Select I can tolerate, but BL is pure skank. Drinking Bud Light may be the pathway to sobriety.

Very true. After 20 some odd years of drinking good beer, my friends and co workers may be catching on and I might have options at barbecues etc.

Anyway, I still like hoppy beer. Just not only hoppy beer.

I know people that would rather drink Natty Light than Bud Light, and I think I agree with them.
