Went to Wal-Mart for some sandwich ingredients. Early 20s couple in front of me at checkout. Guy maybe 5'7" and medium build, girl in the low 5's and pushing 200. I looked through their cart:
1 head of lettuce
1 tube of toothpaste
2 gallons of 2% milk
$160 of junk food.
When cheesy crackers are probably the fourth healthiest thing you have in a shopping cart overflowing with food, you have a problem. I stood in line for almost 10 minutes fighting the urge to say, "What, she not fat enough for you?" to the guy. I'm just curious what the lettuce was for. Between multiple kinds of ice cream loaded with candy bars, Nutty Bars, multiple sugar-impregnated cereals, candy bars, Starburst, and various soft drinks, what combines with lettuce to give you anything other than junk food with a poor man's garnish of lettuce?
I know this doesn't really come across in written form, but seriously.
