Marc Bulger, 34, who was the Ravens' No. 2 quarterback, last year, has decided to retire after nine NFL seasons, a league source confirmed.
The Ravens signed Bulger to a one-year, $3.8 million contract as insurance to Flacco. He didn't play a snap in the regular season.
According to a league source, Bulger received offers from other teams this offseason but he chose not to pursue them.

Not shocking, considering he didn't play a single down last season. He's financially secure for the rest of his life so why have another season where you do nothing but carry around a clipboard?

At his peak I thought he was a top 10 NFL QB. Too bad he played behind such a miserable line and got physically destroyed. He was one tough dude.

Bulger was one of the most accurate QB's I've seen when he had time and wasn't shell shocked.

Always liked the dude. Unfortunately, as HJ mentioned, his line was butter and it just wrecked him, but I can't recall him ever complaining about it. When he first burst onto the scene (I was at the breakout game against the Raiders), his release was one of the quickest I'd seen. Fox showed a side-by-side comparison of Bulger and Marino throwing similar passes and Bulger's release was quicker.
