Forgive me if this has been posted somewhere, but the search bar didn't
I heard Buck mention it when he was delivering promos before the ASG... I couldn't believe it when I heard it. Sure enough, DirecTV is providing NFL Sunday Ticket for no extra charge. How is this possible? How can they afford this? How did the NFL allow it?
Regardless, I think DirecTV just sold themselves a subscription whenever I get into the cable/tv market (probably next year).

I think it is only for new customers as a gimmick to get them. I don't believe I will get the Sunday Ticket for free since I am a current DTV customer.

Last year my dad told me he called them and threatened to quit DirecTV so they gave him Sunday ticket and all premiums free for like 6 months. Maybe it was a ploy to get me to hang out at their house every Sunday, but I think DirecTV is getting fast and loose with their perks.wart57 wrote:I think it is only for new customers as a gimmick to get them. I have to call them today anyway, might as well see what I can get out of them.thrill wrote:Last year my dad told me he called them and threatened to quit DirecTV so they gave him Sunday ticket and all premiums free for like 6 months. Isn't it a pretty common theme among the Satellite/Cable companies?thrill wrote:Last year my dad told me he called them and threatened to quit DirecTV so they gave him Sunday ticket and all premiums free for like 6 months. I'm getting 3 months of premium movie channels free cause I just signed up on Dish. I had to lock in to a 2 year deal (but I really, really hate Brighthouse). At the end of it I'll call and say I can get x package + perks on DirecTV for a similar price and they'll lavish me with free premiums again.

It is pretty common for most non-football oriented premium channels. I always call when my promo is up and say I'm considering switching services for some random reason and I get a new promo. Sunday Ticket for free makes me want to get DirecTV.

Do you have an agreement? Maybe I'll call and say I wanna switch for the football package in a few months to see if they'll extend it?
