Sorry, but Gus is too smart to expose himself to harm that way and he's smart enough to know he didn't have to go over the top to express his displeasure to Walt. Sure enough, all it did was reinforce Walt's decision to kill Gus before he winds up dead himself. I'm sure Gus is every bit the ruthless killer he apparently was in his earlier days, but he doesn't need to do it himself and it was over-the-top and completely out of place in a series that usually features very realistic characters. I had the exact same complaint when they decided to turn Mike into Jason Bourne for an episode prologue at the end of last year.

I was introduced to Curb Your Enthusiasm by a girl I dated about a year and half ago. I love Seinfeld, so I tried to get into the first two seasons, and I just couldn't. I didn't quite get it. We eventually broke up, I didn't want to watch the show to be reminded of her, I let it go.

I am completely regretting that decision. Curb is one of those shows that really hits its stride in the later seasons. Pretty good. Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.

I know that most awards shows are a joke, but I was hoping Offerman would get recognized this year. Instead, everybody from Modern Family got nominated, along with that Glee guy and Jon [expletive] Cryer. Doesn't make sense.

Breaking Bad's super intense Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) played Big Bird's camp counselor Mickey on Sesame Street in 1982. (via @NYMag)

For anyone who watches Childrens Hospital, the fake trailer for NTSF:SD:SUV (National Terrorism Strike Force : San Diego : Sport Utility Vehicle) is now an actual show.

Ron Swanson is as complex and compelling as a lot of the characters on Mad Men and Breaking Bad for my money. It's criminal that the Emmys didn't recognize him.

I don't know about realistic characters. Off the top of my head, Hank, Marie, Saul, and the Cousins either are or started out as caricatures. Skyler is unbelievably tolerant and stupid. I found a lot of that very off-putting in the first season. Hank and Marie especially. On the other hand, Saul is still a caricature but nevertheless a great character.

The central premise that Walt is a master chef whose work can't be duplicated is pretty thin to begin with. I accept it because it's the conceit of a great show, but it's thin.
