I'm pretty sure I'm going to embarrass myself here, but I've finally "discovered" crispin cider and its become favorite summertime beer. You pour it over ice, which I know is sacrilege, but damn it's refreshing. The 22 oz bottle @ 6.5% alcohol gives me a nice buzz without getting me stupid.

Yeah, I know popeye and JL are giving this post the stink eye.

I had some really delicious hard cider a few months back so with this hot hot weather recently I thought I'd try to find some again. Looking through the selection, I eyeballed the Crispin, reached for then put it back when I read "Smooth Over Ice". Turns out the gf had picked some up anyway so I tried it and it wasn't horrible but I didn't really care for it. Tasted like apple candy.

Wish I could remember the brand I picked up. Wasn't one of the bigger names.

My only problem is referring to this product as "beer"...

The kid can't have regular beer because of Celiac disease, and she's not too fond of any of the gluten-free beers she has tried (like Redbridge, Bard's Tale and New Grist).

She became a big fan of this while doing a semester abroad in the UK.

And she likes this domestic one.

I'll have to get her some Crispin to see how she thinks it stacks up.
