WiiU looks awesome, but what about launch titles?

PS Vita looks absolutely incredible, but what about launch titles? It's priced right. But still. I'm not gonna pay 250 to play Uncharted for 6 months until something worthy comes out.

Bioshock Infinite looks extremely fast paced and FPSish but still one I'll buy launch day or near it.

Battlefield 3 is going to be the greatest FPS ever made. Book it.

MW3 looks like garbage, but I'll still buy it because its MW3.

Uncharted 3 is probably going to win GOTY again or come really, really close.

Skyward Sword will be right up there.

And none of this matters. Why?

Mass Effect 3.

[expletive], forgot about Uncharted 3... one benefit of living in Boston is that there's no reason to leave your house in the winter.

I was just going to say that.
No doubt...it seems like I'm only buying Nintendo for Mario, Mariokart, Zelda games. I'm fine with that.

I always say that, but I still get aggravated when that console just sits there collecting dust. At least my ps3 serves as my preferred blu ray/Netflix/streaming device. I don't mind that I only ever play a few exclusives once or twice a year on it, it still gets used all the time. I haven't used my Wii (har har) in more than a year, but I'm holding on to it until Zelda comes out this fall. After that I'm finally going to sell the thing, then I'll break down and get the Wii U next year because it's new and shiny and exciting.

I haven't played my Wii in at least 2 years... not once, still glad I bought it just for the exclusives. My PS3 is my entire home media machine.

I actually have a Wii backlog because I've been addicted to Monster Hunter Tri for the past 6 months. It's basically an action game where you kill monsters and make new equipment from their body parts to get stronger. It has some RPG elements but it probably has more in common with fighting games than RPGs. The game is one of few Wii titles with functional online (co-op play where you take on large monsters in groups of 4) and the community is still very active despite being over a year old. It has a bit of a learning curve but I'd recommend it to any person looking to get some mileage out of their Wii and have lots of fun doing so.

I think I've sunk more hours into MH:T than all my other Wii titles combined (roughly 15-20 titles).

Me too.
I got it, beat Twilight Princess, and didn't play it until Mario Galaxy came out.
Haven't played it since.

So I was reading up on the Wii U, and how Nintendo is not going to use emulation with the new gpu in the Wii U to play old Wii games in high definition, they'll still only display in 480p even though the system can easily handle the processing. Then I ran into a post about how its already being done, which led to this:

Watch in 1080p

I may never turn on my Wii console again.

Picked up Operation Flashpoint Red River yesterday. [expletive] awesome game. I love it. I haven't tried playing it just on my own though; I've been playing co-op with a friend and it has been pretty sweet, but I could see where playing it just on your own would suck because the AI on your team are pretty worthless... plus they love to walk in front of you while you're shooting at a target.
