Ricky Rubio has agreed to join the Timberwolves.

And just in time for the lockout!

I will miss you, Big Aristotle. Probably my favorite player of my NBA-watching experience.

Now, please be an announcer with Chuck Barkley. Please. Please.

Lockout or Rubio?

Rubio, man I don't know. I've seen him in internationals and I watched a Spanish game between Barcelona and Real Madrid. Was not impressed. Like at all. But scouts were so high on him there's go to be something to him.

Rubio. I was referring to your earlier comment that you wanted him to come to the NBA to get EXPOSED.

Yeah I don't think he's athletic enough to defend anyone, let alone dudes like Rose, Westbrook, Paul, Williams etc.

He's a pass-first point guard with good feel for the game, which is great, but I don't think he's the next Nash.

In the limited play I've seen the kid in, he makes some very flashy passes against some pretty crappy looking zone defenses, or similarly-sized points. I agree that when he comes up against Rondo's freaky huge hands, or Jameer Nelson's size, etc, he'll be completely EXPOSED etc.

But, hey, he's almost exactly the same size as Nash, only with longer arms, so maybe if he packs on some muscle, responds well to more athletic, aggressive defenses, and develops a jumper or drive/floater, he can succeed.

I feel like the extra time he's spent lowering his buyout in Spain has soured American hype on him. We haven't seen enough of the guy yet; I hope does well, as I love flashy, multiple-pass offenses (in terms of entertainment value) more than ISOs, big man post ups, and eleventy dozen pick'n'rolls.
