In that case, its been since, what, 84, since a finals w/out them, MJ, Olajuwon, Isiah, Bird and Magic?
Sounds about right. I know the last time a non-Laker, Spur or Rocket Western Conference team won the Finals was in 1979.

When did this thing about players laying down on the sidelines start? They still have locker rooms, right?

The Celtics just really want us to know that they are playing through pain. Dwyane Wade wants us all to know that even though they just won, he got fouled, dammit! LeBron wants us to know that he still has feelings and beating the Celtics MEANS SOMETHING IMPORTANT IN HIS CAREER. THIS IS A MILESTONE, PEOPLE!

Bulls bigs can deny Wade & LeBron the paint better than anyone, Heat can't stop average PG's let alone #1, no Heat post presence to stop #1 at the rim, Heat's defensive penchant of over committing to the passing lanes = #1's bread & butter and the Bulls massive depth advantage = Chicago in 7. Then they beat the Thunder in 6. Boom, championship.

It has been a whole decade since you all won 6 championships. My preferred champion in order:

Dallas (I'd feel kind of good about this)
Chicago (I'd feel pretty indifferent to this)
Miami (I'd hate this)
OKC (I'd actually hate this more. I really don't want Bennett to succeed.)

Or maybe Memphis will win.

Lord, I hope you're right. I can't stomach the thought of Miami advancing.
