That is totally unfair to Barea. He's certainly not a real basketball talent but he does seem to have very good court awareness, moves his feet/body well, good vision. I haven't seen him play a ton, granted, but I'm thinking one of those flops you are beefing about came in Game 2 the other night and it looked like great D positioning to me- a fan of neither team.

I don't think it's unfair at all (well I guess the whole exercise is pretty unfair). If you're comparing Aaron Miles to someone in an NBA rotation, can you think of someone more fitting? Relative to everyone else in the league, it's all grit and scrap. Anyone in an NBA rotation has a reason to be there. But just watch Barea play sometime. He's like your little brother. His D? Leg hump then flop. And the way Barea gets to the rim makes me hate my team. In an interview Terry Porter was saying if Mo Lucas (RIP) was still playing, he'd just give Barea a good hard foul and send him into the seventh row, because he shouldn't be able to get in there without size or strength.lukethedrifter wrote:MrSaigon wrote:If you're wondering what the NBA equivalent of Aaron Miles is, his name is J.J. I don't doubt that that was a charge in game 2 (I don't recall the play). Just like I don't doubt he complained to the refs after each of the five flops before that. Just like I watched him talk the refs into making a foul on him a shooting foul last night.
We can all agree that he did pretty well for himself, however:

Bulls look completely inept in every facet of their game except a nice hustle game from Noah.
Refs call a handful of absurdly terrible calls against them.
Rose looked like [expletive].
Boozer continues his meteoric rise to the top of my least-favorite-players-of-my-teams of all time.
Not a fun day for basketball.

Blazers: Un-expletiving-believable. Historically bad. They went 4/12 in the first and 3/18 in the third. They missed 17 straight shots and went over 12 minutes without a field goal. Then Brandon Roy went bonkers, like he hasn't done for years. That was a wild, wild game. And man did I go through a spectrum of emotions. Portland closed on a 40-15 run and won the game by two.
My theory is that the worst NBA refereeing is in the first round of the playoffs. The difference in calls home and away has been pretty marked the last three years in the Blazers series. But it seems to have gotten better in the progressing rounds.Maclowery wrote: Refs call a handful of absurdly terrible calls against them.

Crazy comeback by the Sixers. Miami still has a final shot.

Helluva shot. Which Heat player takes a 3 instead of giving it to LeBron to drive it in and go to OT?
