Purdue should have been the 3 in Duke's bracket and UConn in Kansas'.

I thought this too. Purdue getting thrown in with Notre Dame and Kansas is craziness, IMOslide_into_first wrote:Purdue should have been the 3 in Duke's bracket and UConn in Kansas'.
That said, I hope 8 or 9 big east teams lose on thursday/friday.

And if Illinois won that, they would play Bill Self's team.slide_into_first wrote:Lon Krueger coaches UNLV, right?

Mizzou(and all of the Big 12 really) got disrespected by the committee, but they landed in a pretty decent spot. Cincinnati is a very beatable 6 seed(Nate Silver's early odds call the game a coinflip, 51/49), and while UConn is scary, there's precedent for them faltering after running the gauntlet in the Big East tourney. Beyond that, the worst 1 seed and a bad 2 seed are in that region, so if there was a chance for Mizzou to make some noise, the bracket won't be what holds them back.

A boilermaker can dream. I think they can run with ND, but KU is gonna be a tough out for everyone.Swingingbunt wrote:I thought this too. Purdue getting thrown in with Notre Dame and Kansas is craziness, IMOslide_into_first wrote:Purdue should have been the 3 in Duke's bracket and UConn in Kansas'.

completely agree vinsanity.
I just think it's silly that a team they were touting as a 2 or possible 1 seed depending on their Big Ten run gets arguably the most difficult path for a 3 seed in the tournament.

Woulda loved Duke or Pitts bracket. Even OSU, but they'd never let that happen.Swingingbunt wrote:completely agree vinsanity.

I'm praying someone shocks KU (doubtful) and they show up against ND and shake off the rust in their first round game. Ive been told G'town matches up well against us, so even getting to the semi's is far from a guarantee.
But Purdue deserved a little knock down after getting beat by the Iowa School for the basketball inept and then schooled by Izzo, I wasn't gonna be surprised if they fell all the way to 4. But I didn't think BYU would stay a 3, guess Jimmer helped, but Texas as a 4 and Florida a 2? There were some weird choices.

Texas as a #4 was stunning to me. Florida at #2 is just a straight up joke, though.

The only thing I can think is that they were afraid of putting two mid-majors up at the 2 spot, and they could use Brandon Davies' absence as a crutch. The Third Man wrote:Texas as a #4 was stunning to me. Florida at #2 is just a straight up joke, though.
But yes, a Florida team that got walloped by Kentucky has no business as a 2 seed.
