Re: The Video Game Thread
I preordered MLB 11 The Show and I don't even own a PS3. I'm sick of the 2K baseball games. They blow. My roommate said I'm welcome to play The Show on his PS3 though. The demo is pretty awesome. I love the pitching controls, still trying to adjust to hitting. I just hate how hard it is to read pitch locations and types. Granted I never played in MLB, but at the highest levels I played I could still read type and location pretty well out of the pitcher's hand. I just think they should tip you off somewhat in the game to make up for the lack of detail that allows good hitters to read pitches.

Can't wait to pick it up tomorrow. Hope they will do roster updates when the season starts.

Spill it, [expletive]. Is it amazing or just pretty good?
I've been fine with the 2k series on 360 and don't particularly want to buy a PS3 just for this game, but I'm also pretty bored.

I personally found hitting way too easy in The Show 2010 and just ended up not playing it anymore. It's pretty funny too, because I had difficulty with pitching on like Veteran. But even on Hall of Fame with the human sliders toned down, I still felt that hitting was too easy. It seemed like home runs were way, way too common. I want contact swing home runs with Yadi Molina or Ryan Theriot once every 50 games, not one a week.cards2468 wrote:I preordered MLB 11 The Show and I don't even own a PS3. I think it constitutes as "amazing". Aside from being a really good simulation game, The Show does a very good job of capturing numerous intricacies of the game. The Show was the only reason I bought a PS3. In fact, during the two years I had a PS3, the Show '09 and '10 were the only two games I purchased.cpebbles wrote:Spill it, [expletive]. Boy I definitely have to figure out these controls. Using the analog stick for everything now is completely throwing me off. The hitting and throwing are completely different and its going to take some time to figure it out. I kinda wanna put '10 back in...

I know I'm incredibly late to the party on both counts, but since this week I'm on Spring Break, I figured I'd borrow Infamous and Red Dead Redemption from a friend.
Both are awesome.

Yeah I got Red Dead Redemption from Gamefly a couple weeks ago and I'm still playing through it. Pretty sweet game.
And Blitzer, I read somewhere that you can change the controls to go back to the buttons instead of the analog sticks.
