I was at a bar after work while that was on and no one else in the bar understood why I screamed "YES! D ROSE, SON!" when the Bulls weren't announced after the 8th pick.

Personally, I think they'd be better off tanking and hoping for lottery luck (like the Bulls got with Rose) for a couple of years. I mean, if the idea is to rebuild, wouldn't you want to include a young player like Favors in that rebuilding process, rather than roll the dice that Williams will want to be part of it (which it sounds like he won't)?
Losing Favors hurts, but it was necessary to get Williams. Having a franchise player, especially at the PG position, is more important than having a young and still raw PF. They can draft another Favors type player. There's always opportunities for players like him. There aren't always opportunities to get the 4th best PG in the game (Rose, Rondo, Paul).

Hahaha that's incredible, dude. I just said "YES! D ROSE, SON!" out loud when I read your post. My brother sitting in the other room asked me if he had a good game (He knows the player names since I talk to him all the time about the Bulls, but he doesn't follow them at all.)

I'm bizarrely excited to watch the game in an hour. Been too long since a Bulls game, plus the disaster that is the Cardinals news feed. My man Stacey King is gonna be hyped up for Noah, you gotta give it up!

They hit the biggest long shot in NBA lottery history in a year where the #1 overall draft pick happened to turn into a franchise player.
You bastard.

But if Deron Williams plans to get out of New Jersey as fast as he can, then what have you gained?

Noah 12 rebounds in 10 minutes so far. Good to have him back.

I never would've guessed the Hawks were so hard up for a PG they'd trade Jordan Crawford in order to get Kirk Hinrich.

------------------------------

Dell Demps says the Hornets are done for tonight. I suspect they'll try to move Marcus Banks' expiring and their trade exceptions for a scorer (JR Smith/Corey Maggette, someone like that) tomorrow. Either way, I like Demps. He's one of the most active GMs in the league. It's nice to actually be on pins and needles on Deadline Day and waiting to see what develops... instead of watching it pass and being surprised if they actually make a move.

Tough, tough loss. Bulls were clearly saving something for tomorrow night. Especially on defense. Rose was a mother [expletive] monster in the 4th but it wasn't enough.

The Blazers missed a dozen wide open shots, really--it wasn't good defense at all, and didn't score in the final 4:20 and lost in overtime. I can't remember the last time they just so clearly lost a game they had SO MANY chances to put away. They did not get beat tonight, they lost, big time. Soul-sucking loss.

Also STFU Lakers. Seriously, every expletiving dead ball three guys and the coach are barking at the refs. What does Kobe have to do to get a technical for SCREAMING at the refs? He was in the guys expletiving face, right in his grill, SCREAMING! The ref was trying to walk away from him and Kobe wouldn't let him. It lasted at least 90 seconds. And the next two dead balls, Kobe was still going at him. And who got the next 'close' call, when Kobe plowed over Andre Miller? Guess. Overtime was such a horrible display of what's wrong with this superstar's league. I really wish you all would have seen the last two minutes of overtime. Soul-crushing loss and that display for punctuation. I expletiving hate that guy/this league.

Gotta feel for Kobe, all that basketball gets in the way of his berating the refs. I'd like to punch him in the balls, if I could ever get him away from the refs. He probably follows them to their cars.

With Rose's absurdly bad-ass solo attempt to win the game, I feel like we absolutely should have had that, had any of the other 9 guys who logged minutes had played to their expectations. Boozer played, in my opinion, his worst defensive game I've ever seen, missing weak-side help and misreading pick and rolls pretty much at will. Keep yelling all the time, Boozer, but before you yell, try to not let your man get position on you every single time he wants to. Jesus, you're bigger than almost every 4 you guard. Oh, and on the offensive side, do you know you can dunk the basketball? It's pretty easy for a guy your size, you should try it.

Noah generally shut down his man, but couldn't help with all the easy penetration the Raptors were getting by consistently beating Boozer, Korver, Deng (who worked his ass off but bounced off several screens and lost his guy), etc.

This was the sloppiest defensive game I've seen the Bulls play all year. Raptors were 32-34 from the free line, which is brutal, but mostly because of blown defensive sets.
