I wish more people cared more about baseball than politics. Maybe it's the dead of the off season and things will change but I'm not sure. I wonder if GRB hasnt just turned into a political/social site that amuses itself from time to time with baseball. I guess we will see in the next few weeks. I'm betting baseball plays second fiddle.

Eh, it's an every 4 year thing. Plus, the pitchers and catchers haven't reported yet. It'll turn into baseball again, once the off-season is over.

There will be more talk in baseball, but I think this will continue to be a political/social website that talks baseball from time to time.

Political talk should be banned. I told MIchael this 8 years ago when I was mod, and I haven't changed. Just shouldn't be allowed. Period.

It's stupid. And I know some really good fans that have left. The place is worse off because of it.

Even though I participate in political talks, I can agree with that.

I dont read NBA Rapper golf and gamer threads. It doesn't bother me that others do. I am fine with banning it .

I think it was that professor again. Anyway not sure what jims issue is. The social and political talk nearly never bleeds into baseball talk.

Morbid curiosity mostly. But it's not just the fact that I read it, my theory is that some people that normally would contribute to baseball discussion don't have the energy because they have spent it all in politics. It means that baseball talk is sparser than it normally would be. People just don't seem as interested in baseball as they used to be, and I'm blaming it on politics. Maybe people just aren't that interested in baseball as they used to be and I'm blaming the wrong thing.

Also I know for sure that some people have left this site because of it. And these are posters that are almost universally liked, that gave GRB that friendly and civil vibe that you don't get with other places. If you have noticed the discourse getting more like other places, it's probably partly because a few of the role models around here have bolted. The political threads eat into that friendly/civil vibe that we used to have.

It's a cancer.

Baseball threads are where many GRB people have gotten pissed and left.
