Wall Street/Gov'mnt, Real Estate

Post by MrSaigon »

It's richly ironic (come at me, semantics police) that for some time I was living in my parents basement, in large part, because Wall Street got super rich promoting the explosion of home loans not grounded in any level of responsibility and aided by our government. Now I'm finally on the hamster wheel, and I can't afford 500 sq. ft. between two operating meth labs. I honestly may have to choose between a comfortable home and Portland.

We all could use a good fat trust fund.

The trust fund babies flew here to screw me out of the life I want (I'm not really that ungrateful). I hope whatever city is the next Portland picks up the goddam pace.

It's not like they're passing out jobs or the schools are any good.

No joke - the time I lived around Portland convinced me its the trust fund baby capital of the world. So many posers living in an expensive town with no visible source of income.

But do note, they're mostly not from here.

Apparently, they call them Tiny Houses so they can charge more money for them.

Also, that guy probably also owns a house in Inner SE he paid twice the value for (his "primary" source of income is the bicycle repair shop he operates out of his garage two days a week), and even though he's dressed and shaved like he's homeless, is one of the aforementioned trust fund babies.

Further, he knows 6,000 times more about coffee and 100,000 times more about beer than you could ever hope to. Don't even bring up music. His son is named Atticus and he hates owning a car, but drives a Prius because he's not a complete monster.
