Cell Phone Help

My company is buying me a cellphone instead of giving me a raise but they're leaving it up to me which phone to get. I'm of the age where I feel like I should know way more about technology than I do so I need some help.

All I need is basic smartphone functionality (text/email) and I do like to stream music/baseball games in the truck on the way to and from work.

The only 'don't even think about it' option that is off the table right now is the new iPhone.

Any phone recommendations and what size data plan would I need for about 1-2 hours of streaming audio every day?

Get an iphone 5s with 4 gigs of data.

if youre gonna be streaming 1-2 hours a day then itll chew through your data, unless you go with sprint (?) which has unlimited data

Go with iPhone 6 if your company will pay. If not, the 5S is cheaper and still solid. 16gb should be enough storage for you.

I'm an android guy myself. I have the Motorola HD Maxx and like it a lot. The battery lasts forever.

Yeah, if you're not gonna be doing anything hardware intensive, battery life is probably the way to go

google now is freaking amazing, but probably not for people who think that google is going to sell their soul to the devil.
